Like sparklers on 4th of July, Liatris begins its bloom at the tip of its tall flower spike and works its way down. Anchored by grass-like leaves, Liatris attracts a host of butterflies (Monarch, Tiger Swallowtail, Painted Lady, Red Admiral, Gray Hairstreak, and Clouded Sulphur), along with bees, the Blazing Star Borer Moth and songbirds.
Tolerant of summer heat and humidity. Highly resistant to deer.
