About us
We're wild about native plants.
Especially deer-resistant, rabbit-resistant, well-behaved, native plants.
The shrub, perennial, and tree species we carry have been tested against our local wildlife populations and have survived and thrived.
The plants are well-behaved in that they’re self-contained or, if they do spread, it’s easy to manage.
We’re all about beautiful, low-maintenance gardens that are beneficial for local bird and insect populations.
In fact, we’ve tagged each plant with the beneficial role it plays, to help you best plan which visitors you want to spend your morning coffee with. (Our favorites are goldfinches, mourning doves, and pretty much any butterfly - even if that means some caterpillar-chewed leaves.)
For those few plants we carry that are susceptible to deer or rabbit browse, we’ve noted that too. So you can protect young plants and plan to co-exist as needed.

We also carry a handful of cultivars and near-natives (i.e., not native to Maryland but nearby - say, North Carolina - which bodes well for climate resilience), based on research that’s shown the plants' benefit to Maryland pollinators - often more so than the straight species.
