Aronia arbutifolia / Red chokeberry

A vase-shaped multi-stemmed shrub, native to both dry and wet soils. A host for caterpillars and pollen source for pollinators. Robins, cardinals, and cedar waxwings save the tart berries for last, making them a life-saving food source in late winter when other berries are gone. Bright red Fall color.

Note: remove root suckers unless a naturalized look is desired.
